Keep hearing about Sapporo Grilling Kits and what to know what all the rave reviews are about?

Well, I’ve got the info you are looking for. Let’s chat about what a Sapporo Grilling Kit is and how to get your hands on one.

Pizza and beer go together like timeless classics, right?

I’ve never met anyone who doesn’t appreciate a nice cold beer with a freshly baked pizza, and I imagine it’s the same for you.

But beer goes well with any outdoor food, right? Grills, especially.

So when Sapporo (a delicious, premium beer brand from Japan) teamed up with Yakitori Grills to create the ultimate beer/grilling kit, it became a smash hit.

If you missed out on their promotion back in 2021, then don’t worry about it.

Today, I’ll be talking all about that infamous collaboration between two powerhouses of the beer and grilling worlds.

Then, I’ll discuss some great ways to use your grill, beer, and pizza to create the ultimate summer feast. Ready to find out more? Then join me below!

What is the Sapporo Grilling Kit?

The Sapporo Grilling Kit was, at the time, a special promotional kit that was launched alongside grilling powerhouse Yakitori Grills to promote both products.

The grills and the beer – and it was launched as part of a summer sweepstakes giveaway in July of 2021.

Unfortunately for hopeful fans of the products, the promotion only ran until September 6th of the same year.

Only 31 entrants actually won the grand prize – the Sapporo Grilling Kit.

Inside the kit, entrants were in with a chance of winning:

  • A Yakitori Grill branded with the Sapporo Premium Beer decal
  • Sapporo Premium Beer labeled ASOBU Insulated Koozie
  • A range of dining and serving accessories for the grill

At the time, the prize pack amounted to around $450 worth of stuff!

Given how popular Sapporo premium beer is here in the US, many people were made aware of the promotion and people flocked to enter.

Since you’re reading this article, I’m guessing that you, like me, missed out on the prize and didn’t actually win.

And hey, if you did, congratulations on being one of the lucky 31 winners!

In the grilling, pizza, beer, and outdoor eating communities, the promotion really blew up, so you might still be hearing about it even now.

But it wasn’t just the beer that got people excited, it was the Yakitori Grills, too.

So let’s take a look at what made this solo stove so highly sought after last summer when summer grilling was on EVERYBODY’S mind!

Yakitori Grills Explained

Yakitori Grills is a brand of Yak grill manufacturers that essentially specialize in KBBQ.

Korean BBQ is more popular now than ever before.

It’s such a nice way of serving food to guests because as Yakitori Grills themselves say.

You can turn get-togethers into grill-together. Because that’s really the whole point of Yak grills.

Everybody gathers around a solo stove and charcoal grill and cooks the food they want to eat on skewers.

That means everybody can cook their food how they like it, so it’s the ultimate tool for hosting outdoor get-togethers with friends and family.

The premium charcoal grills are perfect for placing in the middle of a table with everything else surrounding it (beer, pizza, salads, etc.).

Then, just allow guests to cook off different skewers that they can create for themselves.

And when you think about it as a concept, Yakitori Grills make way more sense than most people realize.

If you’re the dedicated grilling chef at any outdoor BBQ, you have a lot of pressure to cook everything perfectly for every guest (this is removed with a Yak grill).

Usually, you also get the best job because you can smell the delicious food grilling over charcoal and work up a real appetite – my favorite part of the grilling process.

Because they were just served the final product, but with a Yak grill they can enjoy the delicious aromas of the summer grilling process for themselves before diving in).

On paper, Yak grills make a lot of sense.

So, when Yakitori Grills (a premium charcoal grill brand specializing in serve-yourself style KBBQ) teamed up with Sapporo (a premium beer brand specializing in delicious beer from Japan), everybody in the outdoor eating community went wild.

And I imagine after my description today, you’re dying to get your hands on the set too…

Where to Find A Sapporo Grilling Kit For Sale

Everybody knows that grilling with beer is more fun, right?

So you don’t want to get your hands on a Sapporo Grilling Kit to help create the best memories this summer as you sit back with friends and enjoy a fusion of beer, KBBQ, pizza, and grilling!

But can you still get your hands on a Sapporo Grilling Kit?

Unfortunately, no… Unless one of the lucky 31 ever decides to sell their grilling kit (but why would they)?

Then getting your hands on one of these grilling kits is impossible.

Or is it?

Don’t Worry! You Can Make Your Own Sapporo Grilling Kit

Ok, before I start my alternative plan, I just have to make it clear that you can’t get a Yak grill from Yakitori Grills with the promotional Sapporo details anymore.

It was a one-time thing and unless the pair ever decide to team up again with another promotional offer, you might as well kiss that particular dream goodbye.

But, and it’s a HUGE, you can still buy all of the products that were included in the Sapporo Grilling Kit summer sweepstakes giveaway from the companies themselves.

You just won’t have the Sapporo detailing on the front with their premium beer decal, etc.

Now, I don’t know about you guys, but the brand name has never been something that’s bothered me.

If I can get the exact same grill without the Sapporo branding, then that wouldn’t bother me at all.

And I hope you’re of a similar mindset because that’s exactly what I recommend you do!

The first thing you’re going to need is a Yak grill from Yakitori Grills.

You are also going to need any grilling accessories you think you’ll benefit from when hosting a KBBQ event at home in your backyard.

You can find everything you need from their main website here, just look through their shop and see what you’ll benefit from.

And then all you really need is some Sapporo premium beer to complete the package.

After that, you’re set for the summer of grilling fun you should have won in 2021 but were beat to the punch by those lucky 31 winners. The difference? None at all!

In fact, if you want to be really positive, by creating your own version of the Sapporo Grilling Kit, you’re able to just select exactly what you need.

Especially, for a memorable outdoor feast with friends and family, without it coming anywhere near the $450 retail price of the free giveaway.

Of course, you won’t be getting your bundle for free, but at least you’ll be able to select what you need and leave what you don’t.

Oh, and there’s one last thing you’ll need…

Try These Sapporo Grilling Recipes

Recipes, of course! You’ll need some great recipes that go well with your new build-your-own Sapporo Grilling Kit!

Sapporo Ribs

A great place to kick things off is with some Sapporo ribs!

You’ll have seen different variations of these all over the internet, but this one is inspired by Finding Inspiration In Food.

You’ll need:

  • Pork ribs
  • Sapporo beer (of course)
  • Soy sauce
  • Brown sugar
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Garlic powder
  • Smoked paprika

Start by making a delicious sauce by mixing 1 cup of soy sauce, 1 cup of brown sugar, and 1 Sapporo beer together in a saucepan.

Boil it until it is reduced by half and the flavor intensifies to form a sticky glaze. Strain and allow to cool.

Next, form a Teriyaki rub by mixing sugar, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and smoked paprika in a bowl.

You can make this to taste, but start with around 1 teaspoon of each and then adjust to the flavors you prefer.

Then, strip the meat and cover with the dry rub.

If serving with your Yak grill, you’ll want to cook these for 2-3 hours at 250 degrees Fahrenheit first, and then allow guests to finish on the Yak grill.

The internal temperature should be 190 degrees before you finish on the Yak grill.

Serve with the Sapporo Teriyaki sauce and a cool Sapporo beer on the side.

Sapporo Chilli

This Sapporo chili is also inspired by the folks over at Finding Inspiration In Food.

But I won’t share the full recipe here (but you can follow the link to see it for yourself if you want to).

Why? Because every household in America has its own way of making a delicious chili.

So all I’ll suggest is that if you typically add stock or water to your chili, reduce the amount by around 6oz, and replace it with half a bottle of Sapporo beer.

Trust me, the depth of flavor this one addition will add to your chili is mind-blowing.

Serve it with a Sapporo beer, of course, because if you cook with it, you should drink with it too to really bring out the best flavors!

KBBQ Freedom!

I’m really just including this section to let you know that there are no rules in KBBQ.

You can create delicious skewers covered in a delicious sauce (maybe try the Sapporo Teriyaki sauce included in the ribs recipe above).

You may also create some of the most amazing food. KBBQ and Yaki grills are all about serving yourself the food you want to eat.

So get adventurous, experiment, and find out which flavor combinations work for you.

Oh, and add some Sapporo beer to it, because everything’s better with beer.

PIZZA!

It’s funny how everything always comes full circle, right? And I started today’s post really talking about the joy of pizza and beer.

So that’s exactly where I’m going to finish today.

Sapporo beer is so versatile that it can be used in almost any recipe (and hey, you might even be able to use it in a pizza dough recipe.

But I haven’t tried that myself yet, so if you figure something out let me know), but it’s also great to enjoy with a bunch of food too.

If you want to serve the ultimate summer feast outdoors with friends and family this year, then create your very own Sapporo (build-your-own) Grilling Kit.

You should also pick up a Yak grill, and some Sapporo beers, and enjoy a KBBQ feast with pizza, beer, and any other outdoor dishes you like!

After the past few summers we’ve had, I think we all deserve a little treat this year, don’t you?
