Now, should it matter if it’s made in the USA? Well, depending on your worldview, your background, and your own personal morals, it just might matter. To me? Yes. It matters.
In a time where people love to hate the USA, I prefer to support US-based businesses when I can and when it makes sense.
Well, I have good news!
The folks over at Steelmade USA have just announced they FINALLY have released a fully outdoor Griddle and it’s 100% made in the USA, with USA products and materials.
In a time where products are stuck on ships coming from China and the US is seeing tough supply chains, this makes me happy to see some well-priced American innovation.

Oh, and did we mention its mild steel cooking surface is 14 gauge thick? This means its TWICE as thick as a Blackstone Griddle top.
With a thicker top, you can expect better heating, more consistent temperatures and less warping due to the stronger design.
The folks at Steelmade USA took all the issues plaguing the popular brands and improved on them with this flat top grill made in the USA.
From manual lighting access that never fails to make its natural gas and propane compatible. Oh yeah, and it includes an 18oz drip tray.

Ok, So What’s The Bad Part?
Well, all good things have a downside, right? In this case, the downside is there for sure. This outdoor griddle is the base only.
Meaning, you need to purchase a separate griddle cooking surface top to set on the base. I’m not sure why they did that, but, nonetheless that’s how it is.
Now, does that mean I won’t buy this griddle? No, not at all. But, it does mean I will have to invest a little more to own a true, American-made outdoor griddle.
The BEST Part?
Well, I said it was already better due to the price, and that’s (kind of) true.
However, the BEST part of all the Steelmade USA products, is that every griddle comes with a LIFETIME Warranty, not some 1-year nonsense we have all come accustomed to.
What do I take from that? I take that Steelmade is proud of their product and puts their money (and warranty) where their mouth is.
